Name two positive attributes of your opponent

1. Support governor on tough decisions on clemency
2. "He and his wife are not bad people." He has scandals around him, though.

1. Voting for teacher pay increases in '98, '99, '00. Regret he didnt do it in '01, '02 and '03
2. I like Lisa (Ballantine's wife).

In regard to Ballantine's answer to the question, Easley said it was akin to telling someone, "For a fat guy, you don't sweat too much."

This is where I decided that Patrick Ballentine showed that he has no class and that Easley had better character.

The best part was where Ballentine said something like "what about HIS scandals?"

It reminded me of the Bush/Kerry campaign. There is no significant ideological difference between the two on issues so they pull these major distractions out of their rear and try to show who has the worst character.

I later learned that Ballentine was not the only one of questionable character.

Patrick Ballantine has been nothing but a class act since day one. Despite the undeniable fact that he and his family have had to personally endure numerous negative attacks by the Mike Easley Campaign, he still maintains an energetic, positive attitude. They have called him a lier, a liberal, and Saddam Hussein.

As far as I am concerned, Ballantine is more than entitled to a few 'quips' after the crap Easley has dumped on the airwaves.

"Character" isn't something that is an Easley trademark. Unless, of course, one is referring to his Negative Character.
